Welcome Week is the busiest and most exciting time of year here at Warwick. Alongside your departmental introductions and settling-in sessions, make sure you don't miss out on anything we have going on at the Students' Union!
29th Sept - 4th Oct
What is native?
Native is a student events discovery platform that aims to deliver the best experiences to students.
This year we are partnering with Warwick SU through the Coronavirus Pandemic to provide top quality online and socially-distanced events for freshers programmes.
How does Freshers work this year?
Welcome Week is looking a little different this year – however, it will still hopefully be exciting and provide fun opportunities to meet new people! To that end, we are hosting an array of online events via our virtual platform, Native.
What measures are you taking to ensure everyone’s safety?
Safety and wellbeing has been at the forefront of our planning.
We want everyone to have a memorable and fun welcome to the University, but we also want to protect your health and minimise the risk of an outbreak of COVID 19.
As the majority of paid events are conducted online, social distancing measures will not be required within these virtual spaces.
For any physical events run by the SU, please make sure that you only attend with members of your household. Please check the information for all events carefully before booking your place.
I am self-isolating or in quarantine – will there be events for me?
Yes! We are running many online and virtual events that you will be able to sign up for.
Do I need to book tickets for Welcome Week events?
Although there are various free events taking place during Welcome Week, some will require you to buy a ticket as we have limited capacity. Please check the individual event pages for information relating to which events are free and which are paid-for.
How do tickets work?
When you book tickets, you will be sent full details of how to gain access to the email account you used to sign up with.
How does the Virtual Wristband work?
This gets you access to some of the best paid-entry Native events running during Welcome Week at a discounted rate (most other events run by the SU are free, though advance booking may be required for those with limited capacity – please see the individual event pages for more information). Again, full details will be emailed to you once you have completed your purchase.
Are there any age restrictions?
The only event with an age restriction is the Virtual Beer Festival, which is only available to students aged 18+. All other virtual events are open to everyone.
I am having trouble with my Native account – who should I contact?
If you are experiencing any issues with your account, please get in touch with Native directly. Their team will be on hand to offer support and guidance throughout Welcome Week – email firstname.lastname@example.org or message the chat on this page with details of the event or topic you are having trouble with. If the question relates to your SU account, please email email@example.com.
